Why do we need a Guru at all?
The Meaning of the Word 'Guru':
The scriptures answer this beautifully through the statement 'guṁ rautīti guruḥ'. The syllable 'gu' means darkness or ignorance, and 'ru' means the one who removes that darkness. The Guru, therefore, is not simply a teacher; he is the one who dispels ignorance and reveals divine knowledge.
The scriptures resound with the glory of the Guru. The Guru Stotram declares:
“Guru Brahma, Guru Vishnu, Guru Devo Maheshwaraha,
Guru Saakshaat Parabrahma, Tasmai Shri Gurave Namaha.”
This verse recognizes the Guru as the embodiment of the Trinity and the very manifestation of the Supreme God. Without the Guru’s grace, the soul cannot cross the ocean of Maya, the illusory material energy.

The purpose of Radha Krishna Dham is to inspire devotion to Radha Krishna. While preaching respect to all forms of God, Radha Krishna Dham teaches exclusive devotion to Radha Krishna, Who are the supreme form of the Divine beauty and Bliss. The path of devotion taught at Radha Krishna Dham is based on the eternal Hindu scriptures, as explained by the great rasik Saints of Vrindaban, like Jagadguru Shree Kripalu Ji Maharaj.
Our mission is “to inspire devotion to Radha Krishna” by sharing the knowledge of Hindu philosophy and practical aspects of Bhakti. We are affiliated with Radha Madhav Dham, one of the largest Hindu temples and ashrams in the U.S, located in the rolling hills southwest of Austin, Texas. Both Radha Madhav Dham and Radha Krishna Dham, Los Angeles are part of the worldwide mission of Jagadguru Kripalu Parishat (JKP), a non-profit organization founded by Jagadguru Shree Kripalu ji Maharaj to provide a deeper understanding of authentic Hindu spirituality in the world.
